Job Opportunity
In this position, you will collaborate closely with global sugar beet and cereals breeding teams to develop innovative predictive breeding tools.
Responsibilities:
* Provide data analytics support across multiple crops to drive breeding program success.
* Develop a deep understanding of crop-specific data analysis needs based on breeding strategy.
* Evaluate and expand quantitative genetics capabilities to improve breeding programs.
* Maintain a strong understanding of scientific developments related to data analysis methods.
* Perform standard quantitative genetic analyses using mixed linear models and genomic predictions.
* Collaborate with biostatisticians and digital product development teams to optimize data analysis pipelines and systems.
Requirements:
* Ph.D. in agricultural sciences with a focus on plant breeding and quantitative genetics or equivalent.
* Few years of postgraduate experience in relevant field (e.g. quantitative genetics, biostatistics).
* Experience with hybrid crops is beneficial.
* Passion for data analysis and ability to work with large data sets.
* Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, ASReml).
