The Company
Our client is a global, well-established Mission Critical consultancy, who has been successfully project managing mission critical projects in the Data Centre industry for over 13 years.
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Consultant) with fluent German and English language skills to lead the delivery of a 40MW hyperscale data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. This role is critical in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of a complex, high-value data centre facility for a global client.
The successful candidate will act as the principal point of contact between the client, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a 40MW data centre from design through to commissioning and handover.
* Act as the Owner’s Representative, overseeing all facets of the project including design management, procurement, construction, health & safety, risk, schedule, cost, and quality.
* Interface with local authorities, design teams, contractors, and internal client stakeholders.
* Manage project governance processes, including regular reporting, change control, and capital approvals.
* Ensure compliance with German building regulations, permitting processes, and environmental standards.
* Oversee the integration of technical disciplines (MEP, structural, architectural, ICT, security, fire) into a coordinated delivery strategy.
* Proactively manage programme risk, contractor performance, and commercial outcomes.
* Drive contractor accountability for safety, productivity, and progress on site.
* Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members and support knowledge transfer.
Key Requirements
* Proven track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical, data centre construction projects.
* Minimum of 10 years’ project management experience.
* Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
* Strong knowledge of German building codes, permitting, and HSE legislation.
* Experience managing large OFCI Vendors, General Contractor, or multi-discipline delivery models.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost and contract management.
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
Package
* Package of €150,000 - €170,000, dependent on experience.
* All expenses paid (travel, accommodation, meals, etc).
