ROLE SUMMARY
The SAP Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of SAP implementation programs, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA. Based out of Germany, the role leads cross‑functional teams comprising SAP consultants, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality .
The role requires strong bilingual communication skills (German and English), excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to bridge business and IT teams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery & Governance
* Lead end‑to‑end SAP project delivery, preferably SAP S/4HANA implementations, from initiation through go‑live and hypercare.
* Define and manage project scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables .
* Ensure adherence to agreed project governance, quality standards, and methodologies .
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Act as the primary interface between business users, customers, SAP consultants, and technical teams.
* Facilitate strong collaboration between business and IT teams, aligning expectations and resolving conflicts.
* Build consensus, drive alignment, and ensure all stakeholders remain engaged and informed.
Planning, Tracking & Reporting
* Develop and maintain integrated project plans, including milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
* Track progress against plan and proactively manage risks, issues, and change requests .
* Provide regular status reporting to senior management and customer stakeholders.
Testing & Quality Management
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee:
* System Integration Testing (SIT)
* User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
* Test data preparation and defect resolution cycles
* Ensure readiness for cutover and go‑live.
Training & Change Enablement
* Coordinate end‑user training, knowledge transfer, and documentation activities.
* Support business teams during adoption, stabilization, and hypercare phases.
Communication & Alignment
* Conduct regular project meetings, workshops, and steering committees .
* Ensure clear, structured, and transparent communication in both German and English .
* Drive alignment across distributed teams and external partners.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
* Experience in SAP Project Management, with proven delivery of large‑scale SAP programs.
* Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations (end‑to‑end lifecycle).
* Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑stream projects involving functional, technical, and business teams.
* Proven track record of customer‑facing project delivery in complex enterprise environments.
* Experience working in Germany or with German customers is highly preferred.
