We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our R&D department and take ownership of key battery and ePowertrain initiatives. As the Project Manager at ELU (Electrification Unit of Yanmar), you will provide leadership and oversight to individual projects for battery and ePowertrain initiatives. You will collaborate with multiple departments in planning, organizing, and directing the project work across our team, including engineering, scheduling, change management, budgeting, and closeout project documentation. By fostering best practices in project management, you will facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration, drive efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Your leadership will be critical in advancing Yanmar’s electrification goals and maintaining our competitive edge in the industry. Your key responsibilities Work with the project execution team to understand multiple work disciplines along with being a leader in scheduling, cost control, quantity tracking, procurement, client satisfaction, daily jobsite needs, and work activities. Coordinate, lead, and document routine project update meetings with client and internal stakeholders regarding the status and progress of the work. Effectively manage project risk ; evaluate probability and severity of risk events and prepare mitigation plans with project team and senior management. Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management, particularly with regard to cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion. Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise regularly with senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear updates on project status, challenges, and strategic adjustments. Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports to the Management Team, ensuring clarity and actionable insights. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and battery advancements. Requirements & Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification or equivalent is advantageous. Proven track record of successfully managing large projects (automotive electrification, battery storage, or renewable projects) is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach. At least 7 years of project management experience, with 5 or more years in battery/electrification roles. P&L ; Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Proven experience in managing complex technical projects in the automotive or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of project financial management and budget tracking. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Proficiency in additional languages, such as German or Japanese. Ability to work well within a team, supporting and assisting colleagues to achieve common project goals.
