Senior Project Manager | Data Center | Frankfurt | Freelance
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of fire safety and security systems on a major data centre project in Frankfurt. The role will involve managing teams of technicians and engineers responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of life‑safety and security packages within a live or newly constructed data centre environment.
The Project Manager will act as the primary point of contact for the client, coordinating internal teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
Location: Frankfurt
Contract: 12 Months (extensions possible)
Start date: 4th May

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage on‑site technicians and engineers delivering fire safety and security systems, including fire detection, suppression, access control, and CCTV
* Take ownership of project delivery across programme, quality, safety, cost, and reporting
* Act as the main client interface, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues professionally
* Plan, monitor, and manage works to ensure alignment with overall data centre construction schedules
* Oversee subcontractor performance, including scope coordination, progress tracking, and quality control
* Ensure all works comply with local regulations, data centre standards, and project HSE requirements
* Manage documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, test reports, and handover packs
* Proactively identify risks and blockers, implementing mitigation plans to maintain delivery momentum
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Project Manager on data centre or mission‑critical projects
* Strong understanding of fire safety and security systems within technical buildings (data centres, pharma, industrial, or similar)
* Demonstrated experience managing multi‑disciplinary site teams (technicians, engineers, subcontractors)
* Strong client‑facing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, negotiate effectively, and build trust
* Experience working within live or high‑compliance environments
* Solid organisational skills with the ability to run multiple workstreams simultaneously
* Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑pressure construction environments
* Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capability
