Project Manager (f/m/d) DW Akademie Colombia
We areseekingfor the DW Akademie office inBogotá, Colombia a Project Manager (f/m/d) as of 1 June 2026 or as soon as possible based on a full-time local staff employment contract limited until 31 December 2026.
Your challenges
* design and coordinate the implementation of different project activities, with a particular responsibilityfora training and fellowshipprogrammeto promote impact orientated journalism about environmental topics and human rights in the Amazonas region (especially in Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia)includingproject monitoring, administration and coordination with relevant stakeholders from the media sector and the civil society
* prepare comprehensive reports and documentation, manage administrative tasks, and ensure financial accountability and compliance with donor and organizational requirements
* organize project-related activities and business trips, including trainings, consultations, sub-grant management, and event planning
* identify, select, and brief experts, consultants, and trainers involved in the project; develop and adapt reference and training materials for media practitioners and project partners
* contribute to project visibility and communication efforts
* support the Program Director in the strategic development and implementation of media development projects and perform other tasks within the department as needed (e.g.moderation and facilitation of workshops and other project-related events)
Your qualifications
* degree (Bachelor or Master or equivalent qualification) in Media Studies, Journalism, Social Sciences, Communication, or a related field
* several years of practical journalism experiencerequiredand highly valued;proven experience as a trainer, consultant, or facilitator a strong asset, as well as working experience in the Amazonian region; knowledge around media viability and journalistic trends desirable
* extensive experience in project management, including project planning, budgeting, financial oversight,monitoring and evaluation, steering,implementation, and cooperationwith partner organizations and other stakeholdersideallyin thecontextof freedom of expression, media development and journalismpreferredwith practical experience in the media sector
* in-depth knowledge of the media landscapein Colombia and the region (includingindependent media,community-basedand digital media, indigenousmedia initiatives, etc.)required; experience in managing processes fostering dialogue and participation and experience with fellowship or granteeprogramsdesired
* professional languageproficiencyinbothSpanish andEnglish (min. level C1)required, withadditionalknowledge of Germanan advantage
* capacity to produce multimedia content as part of the project's communication and dissemination strategyan asset
* exceptional organizational and coordination abilities, familiarity with highly elaborate processes and rigorous accountability mechanisms;skilled in preparing detailed project reports for donors and management, highlighting project progress and impact in English
* strong communicationand interpersonal skills, ability toestablishand maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of theorganization;high levelof intercultural competence,diplomacyand political sensitivity
