We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to join our team. This position will be responsible for Germany and Switzerland and selected Key accounts. The ASM will provide the territory and account responsibilities required to plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of the business. This includes maintaining existing accounts and identifying and developing new customers contributing to the new market strategies, advising and guiding the business using the most effective use of resources for the purpose of meeting the territory’s growth goals. Account management capability and a hunter’s ability to win new business will be required in equal measure.
What you will do:
Manage the sales process for the accounts located in the geographical territory as defined by the business. Included in this are the following tasks:
1. Generate new OEM sales opportunities
2. Manage the customer experience and expectations
3. Qualify opportunities and customers through phone calls, video calls and in person meetings
4. Develop new business relationships with customers in served market segments
5. Maintaining and developing existing customer base of the region.
6. Determine the application data required for the customers’ need
7. Identify and communicate technical added value solutions to customers
8. Develop a strategy for winning opportunities
9. Follow-up on all sales opportunities in a timely manner
10. Follow up on quotes and secure purchase orders
11. Communicate the needs of customers to the company through established channels
12. Manage and support the distribution partners in the assigned territory
13. Proactively partner with internal departments to provide accurate information and excellent service to customers
14. Manage interaction between the company and customers. Provide written reports back to the company on significant developments
15. Provide regular business reviews and sales forecasts
16. Maintain an accurate and up to date record of new opportunities in the CRM software
17. Keep Management updated on the progress of new projects and existing accounts
18. Continually compile market information/intelligence to assist in the shaping of future company strategy and product development
19. Other assigned duties as required
We are looking for:
20. Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
21. Minimum 3 years’ direct sales experience; demonstrated key account experience highly preferred
22. German and English level C1
23. Ability to travel domestically and internationally
24. Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar software
25. Excellent internal and external communication skills and strong customer focus
26. Strong organizational and prioritization skills required
27. Demonstrated drive for results and proactive, innovative mindset
28. Must be able to work well within a team or independently and demonstrate initiative to drive for results
29. Strong technical understanding and experience working with OEMs is required
30. Knowledge of brush and brushless DC motors, gearmotors, electronic drives, linear actuators, and related mechatronic components is a plus.
