Senior Project Manager – Electrical Engineering (Solar PV)
Location: Kaarst, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany (On-site)
I'm currently supporting a rapidly expanding renewable energy developer and EPC partner, in the search for a Senior Project Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys taking ownership of complex commercial Solar PV projects and driving them from technical concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of commercial Solar PV projects across the full project lifecycle.
* Act as the technical lead for electrical engineering topics, with a focus on AC systems, grid connection, and power export concepts.
* Coordinate grid connection processes with utilities, network operators, and specialist partners.
* Manage project schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and technical performance.
* Review and coordinate technical documentation, electrical designs, connection concepts, and project documentation.
* Oversee internal teams, subcontractors, engineering partners, and external stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
* Analyse project performance and contribute to continuous process improvement.
* Support the development of technical concepts relating to battery storage, load management, flexibility services, and energy market participation.
* Contribute to the enhancement of internal project management processes and technical standards.
Ideal Background
* Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience managing technical infrastructure projects, ideally within Solar PV or renewable energy.
* Strong electrical engineering expertise, particularly in AC systems, medium and low-voltage infrastructure, protection systems, and grid connection.
* Experience working with utilities, grid operators, and electrical standards and regulations.
* Ability to interpret electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
* Experience managing complex project environments and multiple technical interfaces.
* Familiarity with project management and planning software, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Fluent German language skills.
