One of our valued customers, a blue ship energy group, is looking for a new team member in the purchasing department:
Main Purpose of Role:
• Accountable for global strategic sourcing activities for materials/services within a category or subcategory for local and regional categories.
• Creates or increases a sustainable value for the business through execution of sourcing initiatives as defined by the Global Category Manager (GCM).
• Ensures supply of all related materials and services at the right quality, in time and at a competitive cost.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures that supply risk is minimised by generating accurate insights relating to relevant supply market risks, assesses probability of occurrence, plans and executes mitigation actions working with Global Category Manager (GCM) and stakeholders.
• Carry out the RFx process to deliver the strategic plan prepared by the GCM
• Takes account of potential new suppliers and innovations when tendering
• Prepare for, and lead, supplier negotiations appropriate to the requirement.
• Uses eSourcing and eAuction tools with bidding templates for efficient sourcing execution
• Prepare and execute a tender plan to ensure spend is under contract
• Ensure suppliers maintain their compliance and approved status
• Manages supplier performance against the contract
• First point of contact for escalation of supplier contract issues
• Stakeholder engagement / business partner interface for category work
Introduction:
The Indirect Materials & Services department is responsible for the procurement of standard materials and services worldwide. Also, the department manages the travel management.
Within this Department the Standard Materials & Services team is responsible for the procurement of standard materials (e.g., Office products, PPE and furniture) and general services (e.g., facility management, security and cleaning services).
Required knowledge and skills:
• Extensive procurement experience involving high value, international, strategic sourcing of complex services and process.
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification, or working towards.
• A proven ability to develop contractual agreements with contracts appropriate to the risk level involved and in complex environments.
• Proven ability to lead tender processes and negotiation of robust contracts using agreed templates.
• Experienced in the full life-cycle of tender process and related procurement practices.
• Proven capability / skills in complex negotiations and deal closing.
• Expert understanding of goods / service supply markets including cost and value drivers in the supply chain within a Category.
• Ability to build relationships with suppliers, and to manage the on-going relationship.
• Ability to influence and manage across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Will be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills; candidates should be capable of operating to tight timescales with the minimum of guidance and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• The candidate must be fully committed and flexible to meet the business requirements.
• Able to deliver against targets.
• Organized, motivated and willing to learn.
• Able to work with others to find solutions.
• German and English language required
