In Germany, we are expanding rapidly: Our first battery storage project of approximately 33 MWh is already live, with others to follow soon. Our goal is to establish a multi-GW pipeline of operational assets by 2030, strengthening the stability and flexibility of the German power grid. We are looking for a Senior Permitting Manager (Project Lead) that: Owns and delivers BESS projects from site acquisition through to ready-to-build (RTB), with full accountability for timeline, budget, and project outcomes. Takes responsibility for complex BESS projects and drive them to success—technically, commercially, and strategically. Shapes our key projects through detailed programmes and risk registers to keep delivery on track and risks under control. Acts as the single point of accountability for projects, leading cross-functional teams across grid, permitting, engineering, and finance. Key Responsibilities Your Tasks This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact. Key responsibilities including Project Ownership Full ownership of project timelines, budgets, and delivery milestones Leading project governance, including internal reviews and decision‑making processes Proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation strategies Project Development & Management & Development Identifying and evaluating potential sites for BESS projects (e.g. grid analysis, site constraint analysis, legal framework & permissibility) Coordinating permitting procedures (e.g. environmental approvals, building permits, preliminary building requests, B-Plan procedures) Stakeholder Management Liaising with landowners, municipalities and authorities Presenting projects to investors, partners, and decision‑makers Collaborating with internal teams (e.g. engineering, legal, finance) Documentation & Reporting Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring audit‑readiness Preparing internal memos and project updates for senior management Building and maintaining detailed project programmes to ensure on‑time delivery Creating and managing project risk registers to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks Supporting due diligence processes for external stakeholders and financiers Contract Management Preparing and reviewing contracts (lease agreements, cooperation contracts) Delivery Focus Driving projects towards RTB with clear milestone ownership Ensuring readiness for procurement, financing and construction phases Skills, Knowledge and Expertise The skills you’ll need Demonstrated experience in project development through the entire lifecycle of a project (ideally in renewables or storage) Strong project management and delivery mindset with proven ownership of complex projects Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive decision‑making in uncertain environments Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and risk registers Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and markets in Germany Independent and structured working style with high attention to detail Excellent communication skills in German and English Able to collaborate across disciplines and with multi‑cultural, international teams Familiarity with construction permits, environmental impact assessments and the commissioning of required studies Benefits Package Details We’re offering a competitive compensation package, including participation in our employee share scheme which rewards all employees for the growth of the business.
