Operational Excellence Lead
The Operational Excellence Lead plays a pivotal role in driving the efficiency and productivity of our operations. This key position is responsible for overseeing the operational plan, ensuring that teams meet their targets and exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to drive operational excellence.
* Lead operational teams on a shift, resolving issues and positively impacting site performance.
* Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to enhance operational efficiency.
* Collaborate closely with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
* Design and deliver initiatives across sites to improve operational performance.
A Day in the Life:
As an Operational Excellence Lead, you will spend your days leading shifts at one of our operational sites. You will be the key link between multiple teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams.
This involves being close to the day-to-day operations at your site while also contributing to new ways to innovate and improve processes.
Meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for sites, and looking ahead to prepare for varying levels of demand are all part of this role.
Mentoring and coaching your team are essential aspects of this position. You will be a source of leadership and support your team in becoming the best managers they can be.
About the Team:
Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is responsible for managing heavy items like furniture and large home appliances. Our team oversees the entire service, from supply chain fulfilment to delivery and returns.
What sets us apart is the extra level of customer care we provide. Not only do we deliver large items, but we also unpack, assemble, and install them, and take away old items when necessary.
We have ambitious plans to expand our specialist fulfilment centres and delivery stations across the UK and Europe.
Our team is composed of individuals from operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and programme management, each playing a crucial role in growing this part of the business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* A degree (Bachelor, Master).
* Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management.
* Advanced proficiency in the local language.
* Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
* Relevant experience in key areas of production and supply chains.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
* Experience in a similar logistical working environment.
* Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
