Description The Senior Strategic Project Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for leading strategic, global transformation initiatives across the organization, from concept creation through execution and benefits realization. The role requires strong end-to-end ownership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to translate strategy into scalable, high-impact delivery. The incumbent will work closely with Head Office and regional leadership, IT, QSC, and GCC teams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and measurable business outcomes through disciplined execution and executive-level storytelling. Responsibilities Translate Hapag-Lloyd's strategic objectives into clear project concepts, frameworks, and execution roadmaps Continuously assess voice of customer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics to shape and support strategic priorities Lead end-to-end project delivery, from planning and implementation through rollout and post-launch stabilization Partner with IT, Digital, Process Excellence, and other functional teams to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions Drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and manage stakeholder expectations, resolve conflicts, and ensure timely, well-informed decision-making Enable senior leadership to make data-driven decisions through concise, insight-focused communications across Head Office and Regions Lead performance management initiatives (KPIs and milestones) linked to the Hapag-Lloyd 2030 strategy, driving continuous progress Build, lead, and develop a team of project and program managers to deliver on the “Undisputed No. 1 for Quality” strategy Qualifications 8 years of experience in project or program management, preferably within complex, matrix organizations Proven track record in leading large-scale, cross-functional, or transformational initiatives Experience in shipping, logistics, or global service environments is an advantage Strong conceptual thinking and structured problem-solving skills Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities, including at senior leadership levels Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills Ability to translate complex topics into clear, executive-level narratives High level of ownership, accountability, and execution focus
