What you`ll do
Summary:
The Product Owner - Knowledge Graph & Semantics (f/m/d) plays a pivotal role in bridging business stakeholders and technical delivery to ensure SAP IT’s Knowledge Graph strategy execution. You will join a newly formed team building foundational infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI-driven systems.
The Role:
* Drive the product vision and backlog for the Knowledge Graph CoE, focusing on close collaboration with stakeholders and high impact use cases
* Define, discuss and prioritize use cases across knowledge-seeking domains
* Understand and define requirements with subject matter experts (SMEs) through structured ontology interview loops, capturing entities, relationships, and decision rules
* Translate business outcomes into technical user stories and refine in close collaboration with the team
* Own the governance workflow (ontology change proposals, SHACL shape reviews, versioned releases)
* Lead product ownership to mature the Knowledge Graph offering within SAP in close alignment with the team
* Enable partnering teams to use Knowledge Graphs and extend the existing offering
What you bring
We are looking for an innovative, self-driven team player with a unique blend of business acumen and technical understanding to become an integral part of our team:
* University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or similar
* 5+ years of professional working experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a technology-driven environment
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate structured interviews with SMEs
* Understanding of semantic concepts such as entities, relationships, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies
* Familiarity with deterministic reasoning (graph queries) and probabilistic retrieval (vector search/LLMs) systems
* Ability to read and interpret SPARQL or Cypher queries
* Strong understanding of graph databases, semantic technologies, and modern AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic AI systems
* Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and tools like Jira
* Proficient in both German and English, with strong communication skills
Meet your team
The Knowledge Graph CoE, a part of the Corporate Processes & Information Technology (CPIT) organization within SAP, is on an exciting journey to define and scale the use of Knowledge Graphs. This includes the whole process from defining ontologies and data models, ingesting and harmonizing data from various source systems, building the graph infrastructure, and enabling AI agents and knowledge workers across the organization. As we drive the progression of our offering, we actively collaborate with various LoBs and teams within SAP.
The team consists of motivated individuals from various locations, primarily working out of the EMEA region.
