Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for assigned categories (Mechanics) on a global scale, ensuring cost-effective procurement strategies, and optimizing supplier relationships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including material planning, technology, finance, operations, and product development to drive strategic sourcing initiatives, cost-saving programs, and ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical materials.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement global category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost optimization, supply continuity, and supplier performance.
2. Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers through performance monitoring, regular reviews, and development plans.
3. Analyze procurement markets and monitor trends to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across categories, negotiating with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
4. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to category management such as cost savings, supplier performance
5. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to category management processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
6. Stay up-to-date on market trends, category pricing, and supply chain dynamics to make informed sourcing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks.
7. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, compliance requirements, and sustainability goals.
Qualifications
Candidate profile
8. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
9. 5–7 years of experience in commodity/category management, procurement, or supply chain management.
10. Proven skills in negotiation and contract management, with a track record of managing supplier relationships and optimizing costs.
11. Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to process complex data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
12. Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
13. Open-minded, goal-oriented, and equipped with strong problem-solving skills.
14. Collaborative team member with strong networking and customer focus.
15. Excellent communication skills in English.
16. Willingness to travel up to 30%.
